IPL 2025: MS Dhoni is not just a legend of Indian cricket but he is an advocate for fitness and longevity as well. At the age of 43, the flamboyant wicket-keeper batter not only defies age like one one else among active players but he keeps on pushing himself to new heights to bring joy to the fans.
For the last few years, a lot has been talked about the former India captain and his farewell season in the Indian Premier League (IPL). But every year, he always keeps on coming back specially for the fans. Ahead of the IPL 2025 season, he was retained by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as an 'uncapped' player.

For the unversed, players who didn't feature in any international matches in the last 5 years are actually eligible to feature as an uncapped player in the cash-rich league.
So, for the 18th consecutive time, MS Dhoni will be seen in the league, wearing his beloved yellow jersey, the team which he led to 5 IPL titles.
Reacting to MS Dhoni's long tenure and aura, former India teammate Wriddhiman Saha says, the magnitude of the wicket-keeper is such that if he leaves Chennai, the franchise might see a dip in their number of fans and feels that is the reason, why he keeps on coming back.
''Franchise leagues depend a lot on the fanbase. For example if MS Dhoni leaves CSK, there could be a possibility we could see a dip in the number of fans. So maybe, that is why he is continuing. Same goes with Virat Kohli, wherever they go, they get a lot of support. When such big names create such an atmosphere, it obviously gives us a great feeling as a player'', Saha told OneIndia during a CAB event on Sunday.
Dhoni will be seen in action on 23rd March, when Chennai take on Mumbai Indians in the 'Indian El Clasico' at the Chepauk.
