IPL 2025: Jofra Archer Pulls Off Fastest Fifty! Achieves Huge Unwanted Record During SRH vs RR Match

Jofra Archer had a horrendous time with the ball during Rajasthan Royals (RR) match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, 23rd Match. The Englishman, who was roped in with high hopes pulled off a nightmare spell for the 2008 Champions.

He achieved an unwanted record by conceding the fastest 50 runs by a bowler in the ongoing IPL 2025. In his 4-over spell, he gave away 76 runs without taking a wicket, struggling to contain the aggressive batting from Ishan Kishan.

In his first over, which was the 5th of the innings, Archer was severely punished by Travis Head. He conceded 23 runs, including three fours and a massive six. Despite attempting a wide bouncer to slow things down, Head's aggressive intent dominated the over.

Archer returned in the 11th over and conceded 12 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ishan Kishan managed to find boundaries against him. Although he tried variations with slower bouncers, the batters read him well and played smartly.

The 13th over saw another onslaught, with Archer conceding 22 runs. Ishan Kishan was in destructive form, smashing three sixes in the over. Archer struggled to contain the aggressive hitting, as even a well-directed yorker was edged for a boundary.

In his final over, the 18th of the innings, Archer conceded 23 runs once again. He bowled a no-ball that resulted in byes for four runs, followed by a series of boundaries from Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen. Despite attempting slower deliveries and wide yorkers, the batters continued their relentless assault.

Overall, Archer's four-over spell exposed his difficulty in adapting to the flat batting conditions. His lack of success in containing the aggressive batting lineup contributed significantly to the massive total posted by SRH. This spell was also the most expensive spell in Indian Premier League history.

SRH with Ishan Kishan's century and Travis Head's blistering knock of 67 powered Hyderabad to a mammoth total of 286/6 after 20 overs of play. This target happens to be the 2nd highest team total in IPL history.
