Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players and support staff visited the revered Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati to seek blessings ahead of their upcoming game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (March 26).
The team had also visited the temple last year, after winning the TATA IPL 2024 trophy. However, when they last travelled to Guwahati for a league stage match, rain played spoilsport and both teams shared a point each after the game was abandoned.

In fact, the KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane and head coach Chandrakant Pandit had earlier visited the iconic Kalighat Temple in Kolkata to seek blessings ahead of the IPL 2025 opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). KKR lost the tournament opener by 7 wickets at the Eden Gardens.
As they aim to bounce back from that defeat, the skipper and head coach alongside the vice-captain Venkatesh Iyer, and Venky Mysore, CEO and Managing Director of KKR and CEO of Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd were all present at the temple in Guwahati in the morning ahead of their first away game in TATA IPL 2025.
The other players and staff present at the Maa Kamakhya Temple also included Varun Chakaravarthy, Chetan Sakariya, Ramandeep Singh and bowling coach Bharat Arun. Here is a glimpse of their visit to the temple:
Kolkata Knight Riders will take on the Rajasthan Royals at the Baraspara Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday (March 26) evening before they continue their travels to face Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 31.
