IPL 2025: Kuldeep Yadav Injures Shoulder in Brave Dive, Walks Off Field in Pain During DC vs RR Clash

During the final ball of the 17th over in the 2nd innings in Delhi Capitals' IPL 2025 clash on Wednesday, 16th April at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, a concerning moment unfolded involving Kuldeep Yadav.

The incident occurred when Nitish Rana executed a scoop shot off a slower delivery from Mohit Sharma. Positioned at short third man, Kuldeep sprinted forward in an attempt to cut off the boundary.

As he dived full-stretch near the ropes, he managed to get a hand to the ball but couldn't stop it from reaching the boundary. In the process, Kuldeep landed awkwardly on his left shoulder and was immediately seen grimacing in pain. He clutched the shoulder while staying on the ground for a few moments, clearly in discomfort.

Medical staff quickly rushed in to assess the damage. Although he eventually walked off the field with assistance, the injury looked concerning. The team management will be hoping it's not serious, especially with crucial fixtures ahead in the season.

Cricket fans were treated to a rollercoaster of emotions at the Arun Jaitley Stadium as Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals played out a pulsating match that ended in a tie, setting the stage for a Super Over finish.

After being put in to bat, Delhi Capitals racked up an impressive total of 188/5. Abishek Porel anchored the innings with a fluent 49 off 37 balls, while late fireworks came courtesy of Tristan Stubbs (34* off 18) and Axar Patel, who hammered 34 off just 14 deliveries. For Rajasthan, Jofra Archer stood out with the ball, taking 2 for 32, while Hasaranga and Theekshana applied pressure during the middle overs.

In response, the Royals stayed in the hunt throughout the chase. Yashasvi Jaiswal set the tone with a classy 51 off 37 balls, and Nitish Rana matched the intensity with a brisk 51 off 28. Captain Sanju Samson looked threatening before a rib injury forced him to retire hurt. Despite Shimron Hetmyer's calm presence at the crease in the final overs, a last-ball run-out of Dhruv Jurel meant Rajasthan finished on 188/4-mirroring Delhi's score exactly.

With nothing separating the two sides, this thrilling contest now moves into a nail-biting Super Over to determine the winner.
