Contributions from Shubman Gill (84 off 50 balls) and Jos Buttler (50). Despite the steep target, Rajasthan Royals' chase was transformed into a masterclass in destructive batting by their young opener, Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Suryavanshi came in at the top of the order and left the Gujarat bowlers in disbelief. The teenager's aggressive approach from the very start set the tone for the innings. In the powerplay, he took on seasoned pacer Ishant Sharma, hammering him for a colossal 28 runs in one over, making it clear that he wasn’t here to merely compete but to dominate. But that was just the beginning.

As the innings progressed, Suryavanshi went from strength to strength. He dismantled Karim Janat’s bowling attack, launching a series of blistering shots, and soon after brought up his half-century in just 17 balls, marking the fastest half-century of IPL 2025. This was no ordinary feat—it was also the second-fastest for Rajasthan Royals and the quickest ever against Gujarat Titans.

Then, in a moment that will be remembered for years to come, Suryavanshi brought up his century in a mere 35 balls, becoming the second-fastest player in IPL history to reach this landmark. The only player ahead of him in this regard is the legendary Chris Gayle, whose record of a 30-ball century set in 2013 remains intact. Nonetheless, Suryavanshi’s innings stands as the fastest IPL ton for Rajasthan Royals and the second overall in IPL history.

The teenager's 101 runs came off just 38 balls, containing a remarkable 7 fours and 11 sixes. His strike rate of 265.79 was simply mind-boggling and is a testament to his raw, explosive power. His 11 sixes equaled the record for the most sixes by an Indian in an IPL match, a record previously held by Murali Vijay. Suryavanshi’s 11 sixes also marked the most by any Rajasthan batter in an IPL inning.

Not just the ton, but his partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal also set records. Together, they formed a 166-run stand, which is now the highest partnership for Rajasthan Royals in IPL history. Suryavanshi’s innings further etched his name in the record books by becoming the third-youngest player to score an IPL century, surpassing the previous milestone held by Indian cricketers such as Manish Pandey and Paul Valthaty.

Even in terms of shot-making, Suryavanshi’s century had a boundary percentage that was unparalleled. He achieved the highest boundary percentage ever recorded in an IPL century at a staggering 93%. Despite his aggressive style, he showed remarkable composure, with only 38% of his shots being deemed false at the time of his 50—significantly fewer than others with similar scores in IPL 2025.

With such an exceptional knock, Rajasthan Royals stormed to an eight-wicket victory, chasing down Gujarat Titans' target in just 15.5 overs. Suryavanshi’s 101 not out was the driving force behind their remarkable win, sealing his place as one of the most exciting young talents in world cricket.
