The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday (Novemeber 5) announced that over 1500 players have registered their names for the upcoming IPL 2025 Mega Auction, which is scheduled to be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
A total of 1574 players have registered themselves for the bidding process to be precise, but that number will be further trimmed down post the feedback from the 10 franchises in the coming days.

Among the 1574 players, 409 are overseas, including 30 from Associate Nations. Several big names that did not make the retention list are all headed back to go under the hammer during the two-day auction.
While we wait for the final players list for the big IPL auction, there are reports of the big name players who will enter the bidding process at the top base price of Rs 2 Crore.
The usual suspects among foreign players like Jos Buttler, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada are some of the names that have reportedly registered themselves at a base price of Rs 2 Crore.
One surprise name on the reported list is Australian Test veteran Nathan Lyon, who has never featured in the IPL so far. However, the others have all played in the lucrative league in recent seasons. Here is a look at the overseas players with Rs 2 Crore base price:
There could be even more names from Australia, South Africa, West Indies and England entering the big auction with a base price of Rs 2 Crore. There could also be a revision from some of the above mentioned names. The final list will have confirmed entrants.
According to a report from ESPNcricinfo, 23 Indian players, including the likes of Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, have also registered their names with a base price of Rs 2 Crore.
