MI vs SRH: Mumbai Indians (MI) made it two back-to-back wins with a hard-fought four-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 33 of the IPL 2025.

The home side chased down SRH's target of 163 with 11 balls to spare, thanks to a well-rounded team effort and a game-defining all-round display from Will Jacks.

SRH Post a Competitive Total

Put into bat at the Wankhede, SRH rode on a fluent 40 off 28 from Abhishek Sharma, who looked in great touch early on. However, MI struck at regular intervals to keep the visitors in check. English all-rounder Will Jacks turned the game in MI's favour by dismissing both Travis Head (28) and Ishan Kishan (2) in quick succession, ending with tight figures of 3-0-14-2.

Heinrich Klaasen provided much-needed acceleration with a fiery 37 off 28 balls, striking at over 130, while Aniket Verma (18)* and Pat Cummins (8)* added late runs to push SRH to 162/5 in 20 overs.

Among the MI bowlers, Hardik Pandya was effective with 1/21, while Jasprit Bumrah (1/21) and Trent Boult (1/29) ensured the middle overs remained tight.

MI Start Strong, Stumble Slightly, Then Seal the Deal

Mumbai's chase began positively, with Ryan Rickelton (31 off 23) and Rohit Sharma (26 off 16) setting the tone in the powerplay. Rohit, in particular, played some commanding strokes before falling to Pat Cummins.

The middle order was held together by Will Jacks, who followed up his bowling heroics with a vital 36 off 26. He shared a quickfire stand with Suryakumar Yadav (26 off 15), who played a blistering cameo before both were dismissed by Cummins, who ended with 3/26.

Despite a mini-collapse that saw Hardik Pandya (21 off 9) and Naman Dhir fall in the space of three balls, Tilak Varma held his nerve with an unbeaten 21 off 17 to guide MI to 166/6 in 18.1 overs.
