IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals’ bowling unit has seen some incredible performances over the years, but Mitchell Starc’s fiery spell in Visakhapatnam during the 2025 IPL season has etched his name in the franchise’s record books.

Playing just his second match for DC, Starc became only the second bowler from the franchise to pick up a five-wicket haul in IPL history. More remarkably, this was the first five-for in Starc’s 144-match T20 career.

The Australian pacer’s spell of 5/35 against Sunrisers Hyderabad not only powered Delhi to victory but also earned him his third IPL Player of the Match award in just four games. Kuldeep struck early, removing Baba Indrajith and Sunil Narine off consecutive deliveries. Mishra finds himself on this list for a second time, thanks to his outstanding spell against Kings XI Punjab in 2016. His 3-0-11-4 performance played a crucial role in restricting Punjab to just 111/9 at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

Brought into the attack immediately after the powerplay, Mishra made an impact on his very first ball, dismissing Shaun Marsh. He followed it up with the wickets of David Miller and Glenn Maxwell in the ninth over before removing a well-set Manan Vohra in his third over, effectively sealing Punjab’s fate.

4. Mitchell Starc – 5/35 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (2025)

Starc’s spell against SRH will be remembered as one of the most destructive performances by a DC bowler. His impact was immediate, as he dismissed Ishan Kishan and Nitish Kumar Reddy within three deliveries in his second over.
