IPL 2025: Australian pacer Mitchell Starc has joined an elite IPL club, crossing the 50-crore mark in cumulative auction earnings after being signed by Delhi Capitals for ₹11.75 crore in the IPL 2025 auction.

After his latest move, Starc now boasts a total IPL career haul of ₹50.90 crore across four auctions. This places him second only to compatriot and Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins, whose IPL auction earnings stand at ₹54.15 crore.

Starc, a marquee T20 bowler, has had a storied IPL journey despite sporadic appearances due to injuries and international duties. He made his IPL debut with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014, where he impressed with 14 wickets in 14 matches.

Last year, Starc made headlines when Kolkata Knight Riders acquired him for a record ₹24.75 crore, the highest in IPL history. In IPL 2024, he played a pivotal role in KKR’s campaign, including standout performances in the playoffs, earning Player of the Match awards in both Qualifier 1 and the final.

His effectiveness lies in his versatility, excelling both in the PowerPlay with swing and at the death with pinpoint yorkers. With Delhi Capitals now banking on his firepower, Starc remains a game-changer in the shortest format.

Glenn Maxwell Not Behind IPL 50-Crore Club

Meanwhile, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is closing in on the 50-crore milestone, with cumulative earnings of ₹49.5 crore across six auctions. Known for his explosive batting and handy off-spin, Maxwell was acquired by Punjab Kings for ₹4.2 crore in the 2025 auction.

While his previous season with Royal Challengers Bangalore was underwhelming, Maxwell’s match-winning potential continues to command high bids. Maxwell, nicknamed “The Big Show,” has built his IPL legacy on his ability to turn games with unorthodox stroke play and clutch performances.

With both Starc and Maxwell at the forefront, IPL 2025 promises to be another thrilling chapter for these seasoned campaigners from the Down Under.
