Ahead of the IPL 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Chepauk, a light-hearted incident unfolded involving MS Dhoni, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Glenn Maxwell at the Chennai Stadium.

Yuzvendra Chahal, the seasoned leg-spinner for PBKS, was elated upon receiving a bat from MS Dhoni, a gesture that underscored the camaraderie shared between the two cricketers. Chahal, who debuted under Dhoni's captaincy in 2016, proudly showcased the gifted bat in the PBKS dressing room.

Chahal was extremely ecstatic to get the bat as a video shared by the Punjab Kings shows on social media.

However, the moment quickly turned jovial when teammate Glenn Maxwell humorously questioned the utility of the bat for Chahal, given his frequent role as an Impact Player who seldom gets to bat. Maxwell quipped, "You get subbed out in every game," prompting laughter among the team.

Youngster Priyansh Arya added to the banter, jesting that a kid from Haryana might end up with the bat, referencing Chahal's home state.​

Despite the jesting, Chahal's contributions to PBKS have been significant this season, with nine wickets in as many matches. His experience has been instrumental in mentoring emerging talents like Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, who have acknowledged his guidance in navigating challenging match situations.​
