Mumbai Indians (MI) have announced South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch as the replacement for injured compatriot Lizaad Williams ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.
Williams was acquired by MI for INR 75 lakhs at the IPL 2025 auction but has been ruled out for the entire season due to a knee injury sustained during the SA20 competition.

Bosch, 30, brings a wealth of experience to the MI squad. His all-round capabilities make him a valuable addition to the franchise as they aim for another successful IPL campaign.
Bosch's cricketing journey has been noteworthy. He was part of the South Africa Under-19 team that won the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he delivered a match-winning performance in the final, earning the Player of the Match award. He made his T20 debut for the Titans in November 2014 and his first-class debut in September 2017.
In December 2024, Bosch made his international debut for the Proteas, earning both Test and One Day International (ODI) caps against Pakistan. In his Test debut, he impressed with a four-wicket haul and an unbeaten 81 runs, showcasing his potential at the highest level.
Bosch was signed by the Rajasthan Royals in 2022 as a replacement for Australia's Nathan Coulter-Nile but is yet to make his IPL debut. More recently, he played a pivotal role in MI Cape Town's title-winning campaign in the SA20 league, taking 11 wickets during the season. The Proteas player was also part of the Champions Trophy 2025 squad.
The Mumbai Indians are set to begin their IPL 2025 campaign on March 23 against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With Bosch's inclusion, MI aims to bolster their bowling attack and add depth to their batting lineup, hoping his all-round skills will contribute significantly to their quest for a sixth IPL title.
