Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins has been appointed captain of SRH and led them to the IPL final last year. Amid the difficult season, there is a rumour that he left India for Australia and his participation for the remainder of the tournament was being questioned.

The rumours originated from an Instagram story posted by Cummins' wife, Becky, featuring a photo of the couple at Mumbai Airport with the caption, "Goodbye India, we have loved visiting this beautiful country."

This led to widespread conjecture about Cummins' departure from the tournament. The SRH fans were extremely concerned that their captain has left the tournament midway, not the best advrtisement by any means.

Pat Cummins leaving India is a Hoax

However, credible sources have confirmed that Pat Cummins remains in India and is fully committed to leading SRH for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season. The photograph in question was taken at the Mumbai Airport, where Cummins was seen accompanying his wife, who was returning home.

IPL 2025: Will Pat Cummins play Today vs MI?

There is no indication of Cummins himself leaving the country or the tournament at this time. And as SRH play MI today, the Australian is expected to lead the team. Apart from Cummins, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and probably Eshan Malinga will be the other overseas players for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

SRH need a victory to stay Afloat

SRH are placed 9th in the table and are in desperate need of a victory. If they lose against the Paltans today, they will enter the desperate territory after that. A defeat today would mean their sixth of the season, which means they will have to win their next six by any means to have a chance for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
