Punjab Kings batter Priyansh Arya shared a special anecdote involving India head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Priyansh has made waves in the ongoing IPL 2025 with a magnificent knock for the Punjab team against Chennai Super Kings.

The 24-year-old Delhi boy racked up a ton in just 39 balls, thus becoming the fastest uncapped player to score a century in the competition. In his debut season, the southpaw has shown his mettle and skills. After getting castled by Jofra Archer in the first ball of a match, he started off with a six in the very next against CSK, and continued playing with dominance despite losing wickets at the other end.
During a media interaction on Thursday, the PBKS player shared his thoughts on the dominant approach and boldness.
"It is all about mindset. But I was not such bold during the start of my career. I learned my way to it," Priyansh said at the interaction organized by Punjab Kings.
After that, the youngster shared a special interaction with India head coach Gautam Gambhir. As both belong to Delhi, there were multiple times the duo met during Gambhir's playing days. And the Punjab batter says he has assimilated many lessons from Gambhir, watching him batting during net practices.
"I used to call him[Sir] during my childhood days. Sanjay sir[Priyansh's coach] told us to watch Gambhir's batting and learn from him. So we used to see how he was playing, how he was playing in the nets. So he used to play like a match in the nets. It's not like he's a rash shot. So I got to learn a lot from that," he said.
And the player continued revealing that Gambhir once gifted him an entire kit bag. The former Indian cricketer is known for his backing of youngsters and Priyansh got a special present from him.
"I met him for the first time during my first Ranji Camp. So I was batting in the nets and he called me to his place and gave me all the new equipment with which he used to play. He gave me his entire kit bag the next day," Priyansh revealed.
Priyansh Arya rose to prominence with six sixes in a Delhi Premier League match and not looked back since. He was bought by PBKS for Rs 3.8 crore and has shown his class at the grandest stage of franchise cricket as well.
