PBKS vs RCB: Virat Kohli's unbeaten 73 and a fiery 61 off just 35 balls by Devdutt Padikkal helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) register a comprehensive 7-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 37 of the IPL 2025 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium on 20th April in Chandigarh.
After electing to bowl first, RCB's bowlers produced a disciplined performance to restrict Punjab Kings to 157/6 in their 20 overs. In response, Bengaluru chased down the target with ease, reaching 159/3 in 18.5 overs, thanks to a dominating show from their top order.

PBKS openers Priyansh Arya (22 off 15) and Prabhsimran Singh (33 off 17) gave the team a brisk start, reaching 42 in just over four overs. However, Krunal Pandya struck twice in quick succession to dismiss both openers and stall the momentum.
Captain Shreyas Iyer couldn't make an impact, falling for just 6 to Romario Shepherd, while Josh Inglis tried to stabilize the innings with a fluent 29 off 17 balls before being bowled by Suyash Sharma.
From a promising 62/1, PBKS slumped to 114/6, with Stoinis and Nehal Wadhera falling cheaply. Shashank Singh (31)* and Marco Jansen (25)* added some crucial late runs, but a lack of middle-order resilience kept the total below par.
Krunal Pandya: 4-0-25-2
Suyash Sharma: 4-0-26-2
Hazlewood: Though expensive, bowled key overs (4-0-39-0)
Chasing 158, RCB had a shaky start, losing Philip Salt for just 1 in the first over to Arshdeep Singh. But from there on, it was the Kohli-Padikkal show.
Virat Kohli, in sublime touch, anchored the innings with a commanding 73 off 54 balls*, laced with 7 fours and 1 six. At the other end, Devdutt Padikkal played a sensational knock, hammering 61 off 35 balls at a strike rate of 174.29, including 5 fours and 4 sixes.
After Padikkal and Rajat Patidar (12) fell in quick succession, Jitesh Sharma came in and finished things off with a 8-ball 11*. Kohli remained unbeaten as RCB reached the target with seven wickets and seven balls to spare.
