Time has a way of bringing back cherished memories, and for Rahul Dravid, it did so in the most heartwarming fashion.

More than a decade after bidding farewell to competitive cricket, the legendary Indian batter found himself back in the thick of the action - not as a coach, not as a mentor, but as a player. And this time, the occasion was even more special.

Dravid took the field alongside his younger son, Anvay, representing Vijaya Cricket Club in the KSCA Division III League against Young Lions Club on February 22. The sight of the father-son duo at the crease was a moment of pure nostalgia, evoking memories of Dravid's early playing days, this time with the added sentiment of playing alongside his own child.

Though his innings lasted just 10 runs, falling to Young Lions bowler AR Ullas after a mistimed lofted shot, Dravid's presence alone was enough to leave players and fans in awe. The brief yet poignant 17-run partnership with Anvay was a scene straight out of a cricketing fairytale-one that his son will surely cherish for a lifetime.

Anvay, carrying forward the family's cricketing legacy, went on to play a crucial knock of 58 off 60 balls, anchoring Vijaya Cricket Club's innings. His contribution helped propel the team to a 24-run victory, securing a semi-final spot.

For Dravid, this return to the pitch stirred memories of 2013, when he briefly stepped back into the game for his childhood club, Bangalore United Cricket Club, just months after his retirement.
