Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have reached the IPL 2025 final, and this time, they have every reason to believe that they can finally lift the trophy. After years of heartbreak and near misses, things seem to be falling in place - and history is also on their side.
RCB booked their place in the final by crushing Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1. They bowled Punjab out for just 102 and chased it down in only 10 overs, with Phil Salt smashing a quickfire half-century. It was a statement win - and one that gives them serious momentum going into the big final.

Their strong campaign this year has been driven by some excellent performances. Virat Kohli has been outstanding with the bat, scoring over 600 runs and leading from the front. Captain Rajat Patidar has impressed with both his leadership and key knocks. Phil Salt's recent form has added more firepower at the top.
But more than just form, history gives them a major boost. Out of the 14 times the current playoff format has been used, 11 teams that won Qualifier 1 went on to win the final. That's a success rate of nearly 80%. It shows how important Qualifier 1 is - and RCB are now in that winning position.
RCB also got their squad balance right this year. Their bowling - often seen as a weak point - has stepped up, with Josh Hazlewood leading the way with 21 wickets. The team also made history by becoming the first to win all of their away games this season, showing they can handle pressure in any condition.
