IPL 2025: RCB Create History, Become First Team To Achieve THIS Hundred-Percent Record

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) scripted history on Tuesday night, becoming the first team in Indian Premier League (IPL) history to win all their away league-stage matches in a single season.

Their record-breaking feat was sealed with a six-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium, completing a flawless 7-0 record on the road in IPL 2025.

Previously, the joint-best away record belonged to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI), both winning seven out of eight away fixtures in the 2012 season. However, RCB went one better by maintaining a 100% win record in all seven of their away matches this year - a first in the IPL's home-and-away format history.

Tuesday's clash in Lucknow was far from a walkover. Batting first, LSG posted a formidable 227/3, powered by a stunning 118-run knock from skipper Rishabh Pant - one of the standout individual performances of the season. Despite the mountain of runs, RCB's response was nothing short of clinical.

Openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt gave the team a strong start during the powerplay, taking full advantage of a wayward LSG bowling attack. The real turnaround came through a stellar unbeaten 85 off 33 balls from stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma, who stepped up magnificently.

Sharma's innings, laced with flair and aggression, included a crucial moment when he was caught on 49 but got a second life due to a back-foot no-ball. He was well supported by Mayank Agarwal, whose calm 41* ensured the required run rate never spiraled out of reach.

Their 105-run stand powered RCB to their highest-ever successful run chase in IPL history. The win not only sealed their second-place finish on the points table with 19 points from 14 matches but also booked them a spot in Qualifier 1 against table-toppers Punjab Kings in New Chandigarh on May 29.

RCB's flawless away record and fearless batting approach have made them genuine title contenders as they enter the playoffs brimming with confidence.
