IPL 2025: RCB Create History vs DC, Become First Team To Achieve THIS Huge Record

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have etched their name into IPL history, becoming the first team to win six consecutive away matches in the league. The feat was achieved on Sunday, April 27, 2025, as RCB comfortably defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets in their IPL 2025 encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

This victory not only extended their incredible away run but also propelled them to the top of the points table, with seven wins from 10 matches.

RCB's performance in the match showcased their all-round strength, with Krunal Pandya emerging as the star of the evening. The seasoned all-rounder played an unbeaten knock of 73 runs off just 47 balls, guiding his side to a successful chase of 163 runs.

This was Krunal's first fifty-plus score in the IPL since his debut season in 2016. His composed innings was complemented by Virat Kohli, who contributed with 51 runs off 47 balls, marking his fourth fifty-plus score in successful chases in IPL 2025.

Krunal's match-winning knock was not the only highlight for RCB. The team showcased exceptional bowling depth, led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who took three wickets to dismantle Delhi's batting order. Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma also contributed valuable spells to restrict Delhi Capitals to a total of 162/8 in 20 overs.

RCB's historic away run began on a shaky note, as they were reduced to 26/3 early in their chase. Delhi's captain Axar Patel made early inroads with the ball, dismissing debutant Jacob Bethell and the in-form Devdutt Padikkal in quick succession.

The pressure mounted further when RCB's captain, Rajat Patidar, was run out for six due to a poor call from Kohli. By the end of the powerplay, RCB had managed just 35/3, their second-lowest powerplay score of the season.

Despite the early setbacks, RCB remained calm. The partnership between Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya proved crucial as they rebuilt the innings. Kohli anchored the chase, while Krunal took charge, adapting to the pitch and accelerating after a cautious start. By the 14th over, Krunal had begun to dominate, hitting Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav for sixes, and RCB reached the 100-run mark.

Kohli, playing the perfect supporting role, reached his fifty off 45 balls, while Krunal unleashed his big shots to seal the game for RCB. Krunal's unbeaten 73 runs, which included four sixes and five boundaries, played a key role in the team's victory, earning him the Player of the Match award.

With this win, RCB made history by becoming the first team in IPL history to win six consecutive away matches.

They now have the opportunity to extend this record further, with their final away game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) scheduled for later in the season. If RCB win this match, they will become the first team ever to win all their away fixtures in a single IPL league stage.
