The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have been proactive in enhancing their squad for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
With this revamped squad, RCB will aim to clinch their maiden IPL title, which they haven't been able to clinch so far in their history.

RCB have named Rajat Patidar as captain and will commence their IPL 2025 extravaganza with an away trip to Kolkata on the opening day, as they face defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders.
Like the previous seasons, the Impact Player rule remains in IPL for this season as well. The rule has brought mixed reactions from teams but RCB will be hoping to make the most of it in the coming season. Here are five players who can play a big role for them as Impact Player.
Rasikh Salam Dar, a promising fast bowler from Jammu and Kashmir, has been on the IPL radar since his debut with the Mumbai Indians in 2019. Despite facing challenges early in his career, including injuries, Rasikh has showcased resilience and determination.
RCB's home ground, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, often favors batsmen, but Rasikh's skill set can exploit any early movement, providing crucial breakthroughs. The Jammu and Kashmir player was bought for Rs 6 crore in the mega auction and can be a pace option as Impact Player for RCB.
Swastik Chhikara has been making waves in the domestic circuit with his consistent batting performances. A left-handed batsman known for his aggressive stroke play, Swastik brings a fresh dynamism to the batting lineup. His adaptability allows him to anchor the innings or accelerate when required.
Given RCB's reliance on their top order in previous seasons, Swastik's prowess against both pace and spin ensures stability in the middle overs, a phase where RCB has occasionally faltered.
Suyash Sharma had a dismal outing with KKR last year and has joined RCB this time. Suyash's variations and fearless approach make him a potent weapon in the middle overs, especially on pitches that offer turn.
Although the Delhi bowler is not a finished product, he can make an impact for RCB with the Impact Player role, especially where conditions will suit him. RCB can bring on Suyash in the second innings of any match in spin-friendly wickets.
Yash Dayal, a left-arm pacer, brings variety to RCB's bowling attack. Yash's ability to bowl accurate yorkers in the death overs addresses a critical area where RCB has sought improvement. He had a superb outing with RCB last season and was one of their retained players.
His performances in domestic tournaments have been impressive, showcasing his temperament under pressure. Dayal is a likely starter, but can also hone the Impact Player role with prudence.
Devdutt Padikkal's place in the RCB batting lineup is not warranted at the moment. The southpaw is back at where it all began for him, but his recent form in IPL is not encouraging at all. The crafty southpaw endured a couple of difficult IPL seasons with LSG and RR and will now be aiming to revive his career with Bengaluru. He may not be a regular starter but he can be a perfect Impact Player for them in the season.
The 24-year-old showcased decent proficiency for Karnataka in the limited opportunities that he had in the domestic season but IPL will be a different ball game altogether.
