IPL 2025: RCB sigh Huge Relief as Foreign Trio arrive in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli yet to join

By MyKhel Staff

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are preparing for the IPL 2025 and have received a huge positive news ahead of the start of the season.

Rajat Patidar is set to captain RCB this season as they commence their campaign against the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 22. Amid the stringent preparations, the fans of RCB can breathe a huge sigh of relief as star players are confirmed for the season.

After a mixed outing in the IPL 2025 mega auction, RCB were in trouble after injury scares to some of their foreign players. Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood suffered a blow which ruled him out of the Champions Trophy, and the fate was same for England's Jacob Bethell as well.

Bethell, known for his hard-hitting, got injured just before the Champions Trophy. The southpaw was sold to RCB for a whopping Rs 2.60 crore and his potential absence could have compounded their problems.

But things have turned out well for them as Bethell is set to feature in the IPL this season. The young Englishman reached Bengaluru on Friday (March 14), which is a boost for the Bengaluru outfit.

RCB uploaded an image of Bethell's arrival and posted on social media, welcoming him.

"Welcome home, Jacob, for your bold new beginnings. Can't wait to see you light up Chinnaswamy," a post on X wrote.

Apart from Bethell, his fellow England teammate Liam Livingstone also arrived in Bengaluru. South African pacer Lungi Ngidi has also touched down at the Garden City and may play a big part in their season. Hazlewood hasn't joined the team yet, but reports suggest that the Australia pacer may be fit for the IPL as well.

Virat Kohli is yet to arrive in Bengaluru for the season. The star India player left team hotel on the same night of India's Champions Trophy triumph, and is expected to unite with the team a few days before the start of the season. RCB's curtain raiser, the RCB Unbox Event is scheduled on March 17, and Virat is likely to arrive in Bengaluru before that.
