IPL 2025: RCB vs PBKS Award Winners, Man of The Match, Post-Match Presentation

RCB vs PBKS: A dramatic 14-over-a-side contest, delayed by rain at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, ended in a crucial five-wicket win for Punjab Kings (PBKS) over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 34 of IPL 2025.

The visitors successfully chased down 96 with 11 balls to spare, after dismantling RCB's batting lineup with a disciplined and clinical bowling display.

RCB vs PBKS

RCB's Batting Collapse Proves Costly

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, PBKS made early inroads into RCB's star-studded batting line-up. Arshdeep Singh struck in his very first over, removing Phil Salt for 4. The left-arm pacer then dealt a hammer blow by dismissing Virat Kohli for just 1, as RCB stuttered to 21/2 inside three overs.

Liam Livingstone (4), Jitesh Sharma (2), and Krunal Pandya (1) followed in quick succession, all falling cheaply as the hosts collapsed to 33/5 by the sixth over. Captain Rajat Patidar tried to rebuild with a quick 23 off 18, but he too perished in the eighth over.

Tim David launched a lone counterattack with a blistering unbeaten 50 off 26 balls, including five sixes, but lacked support from the other end. RCB ultimately crawled to 95/9 in their 14 overs, with six batters failing to reach double digits.

PBKS' bowlers shared the spoils with Arshdeep (3-0-23-2), Yuzvendra Chahal (3-0-11-2), Harpreet Brar (2-0-25-2), Xavier Bartlett (3-0-26-1), and Marco Jansen (3-0-10-2) all making decisive contributions.

Punjab's Steady Chase

In response, PBKS lost both openers-Prabhsimran Singh (13 off 9) and Priyansh Arya (16 off 11)-inside four overs but kept the required run rate under control. Shreyas Iyer (7) and Josh Inglis (14) departed in quick succession to give RCB a glimmer of hope, with Hazlewood bowling a tidy spell of 3/14.

However, Nehal Wadhera anchored the innings with a fluent unbeaten 33 off 19 balls, hitting three fours and a six. Despite the loss of Shashank Singh (1) late in the chase, Marcus Stoinis (7*) ensured there were no late hiccups, guiding PBKS to 98/5 in 12.1 overs.
