IPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continue to set new benchmarks in IPL 2025, with their thrilling 6-wicket triumph over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The victory not only marked a remarkable 6th consecutive away win but also pushed RCB to the top of the IPL points table-a feat they had never before achieved.

Leading from the front, Rajat Patidar's leadership was instrumental in the team's dominance. The win, RCB's first-ever six-match winning streak on away turf, was a demonstration of tactical brilliance, discipline, and composure in high-pressure moments.
"Every game is important for us from here because we're not just aiming to qualify for the playoffs but to finish in the top 2," said Patidar, his voice full of confidence. "Initially, we were under pressure with early wickets falling, but the way Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya calculated their innings was a joy to watch."
Patidar's admiration for his teammates highlighted the collective spirit that defines RCB's 2025 campaign. "It was a total team performance," he added, reflecting on the solid bowling effort. "The way our bowlers executed their plans was excellent. It feels great to lead this team."
Indeed, it was a stellar bowling display from RCB that set the stage for the chase. Coach Andy Flower was full of praise for both Patidar's leadership and the bowlers' execution. "Rajat, a lot of your bowling changes worked today, and there was a real sense of control. I thought this was probably our best bowling performance this season," Flower remarked, lauding the efforts of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Krunal Pandya, and Suyash Sharma. Their combined efforts restricted Delhi Capitals to their lowest total of the season.
As RCB's bowlers set the tone, the batting department carried the momentum forward, with Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya taking charge of the chase. Their 119-run partnership for the fourth wicket was the highest ever in IPL history for that particular wicket against Delhi Capitals. Kohli, in superb form, played with composure and determination, while Pandya's measured approach was crucial in stabilising the innings. "It's been a long wait for me to get my rhythm back, and I'm overwhelmed by this performance," Pandya said after being named Player of the Match. "I always knew I had it in me, and the team comes first. When you put the team ahead, good things follow."
The duo's partnership, coupled with Pandya's invaluable knock, brought RCB to the brink of a memorable win. Kohli, who has been exceptional in run-chases this season, was once again at the heart of the chase. This season, he has scored four half-centuries in away games, helping RCB secure victories in each of them. What is equally remarkable is that Kohli has been dismissed just once in those innings, further cementing his status as the team's linchpin in critical situations.
"It's always a lot of fun to bat with Virat Kohli," Pandya continued, reflecting on the positive influence of the veteran. "His energy and the way he bats are unbelievable. The way he backed me up with his energy and perspective really helped me, and it felt amazing to win today."
With six consecutive away wins now under their belt, RCB are not just breaking records-they are making a statement: they are a team to be reckoned with in IPL 2025. Their mantra of being controlled and clinical on the field is paying rich dividends, and as the tournament progresses, they will look to build on this momentum in their quest for the top spot.
