IPL 2025 Retention: List of Overseas Players retained by SRH

Travis Head: Travis Head was retained by SRH for INR 14 crore, more than twice his initial INR 6.8 crore price from 2024. The explosive batsman amassed 567 runs in 15 matches at a striking rate of 191.5 in the last season and established himself as a key player in SRH’s lineup.

Pat Cummins: On the other hand, captain Pat Cummins also remains integral to SRH’s plans, retained for INR 18 crore. His leadership propelled SRH to the finals last season. He is determined to bring home the title this time around.

Heinrich Klaasen: Meanwhile, South African wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen was retained for a staggering INR 23 crore. In the last season, he scored 479 runs, including four fifties at an average of 39.92 and a strike rate of 177.08.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have retained marquee names on the retention deadline day. On the contrary, they have released as many as 21 players, including star players such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Wanindu Hasaranga and Washington Sundar.

SRH have now set the foundation for their squad heading into the 2025 mega auction. The previous season's runners-up retained players worth INR 75 crore, leaving them with a budget of INR 45 crore out of the INR 120 crore total wallet. With 45 crores remaining in their purse, SRH will look to strike a careful balance between top talent and strategic spending.
