Kolkata Knight Riders have announced their retention list for IPL 2025 on Thursday (October 31).
The IPL 2024 champions have named Six retained players for the next IPL cycle - Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Harshit Rana. The Knights have spent a decent Rs 69 crore in their retentions, which means they will have around Rs 51 crore in the upcoming auction next month.

Kolkata Knight Riders Have released their captain Shreyas Iyer, who led them to the IPL 2024 victory earlier this year. Along with Shreyas, Venkatesh Iyer has also been released and so is Australian pace bowler Mitchell Starc. Manish Pandey, Vaibhav Arora and Nitish Rana are the notable Indian absentees in the KKR list.
Phil Salt, who had a stellar outing last year has also found no place. Young Indian batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi also played brilliantly in patches for KKR but is not going to be a part of the Knights setup before the auction. Dushmantha Chameera and Allah Ghazanfar, who were roped in as a replacement for Gus Atkinson and Mujeeb Ur Rahman respectively, are also released by the Knight Riders.

The Kolkata Knight Riders can't buy any of the players in auction using the RTM card as they have utilized all of their retention options. To bring back a player, KKR will have to bid for a player and directly win the bidding for him.
