IPL 2025 Retention: Lucknow Super Released Players; Full List of LSG Players not Retained

Lucknow Super Giants have announced their retention list IPL 2025 auction. The franchise, owned by the RPSG Group, has retained five key players from last season. Notably, KL Rahul, who previously captained the team, is not on the retention list.

The Lucknow-based team has prioritized retaining Nicholas Pooran, a prominent player from the West Indies. Pooran has been retained for a substantial sum of Rs 21 crore. Additionally, India's fast bowler Mayank Yadav will continue with the team for Rs 11 crore. Spinner Ravi Bishnoi is also set to remain with the franchise for Rs 11 crore.

In addition to these established players, Lucknow Super Giants have chosen to retain two uncapped Indian talents. Mohsin Khan, a left-arm pacer, and Ayush Badoni, a promising batter from Delhi, are both set to stay with the team.

KL Rahul's departure from the franchise has come as a surprise. The franchise was not in the most amicable terms and now the Indian player is set to appear in the auction. Along with Rahul, key Indian figures such as Krunal Pandya, Deepak Hooda have also been released.

KL Rahul captained LSG from 2022 and led them to a couple of playoff finishes. Krunal Pandya has had sporadic top performances with LSG but the franchise thought to ship him off for inconsistency, while Deepak Hooda's time with the franchise has been hugely underwhelming.

In terms of foreigners, Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis have found no place in the team but the latter may be brought back through the RTM process.
