Kolkata Knight Riders have named their retention list for IPL 2025 as BCCI announced the retention list on Thursday (October 31).
The Knight Riders have retained six players ahead of the upcoming season, spending Rs 47 crore in the process.

The Knight Riders have retained four capped players in Sunil Narine, Andr Russell, Rinku Singh and Varun Chakravarthy, while they have also confirmed the services of uncapped India pacer Harshit Rana and batter Ramandeep Singh.
But a number of KKR players have been released, with the long list also seeing the departure of a number of uncapped players. In the IPL 2024 season, KKR's excellent outing was aided by some fantastic contributions from some of the uncapped players, who stood up in important moments for the team.
KKR used six uncapped players in IPL 2024, and they have kept Harshit Rana among them. Although the IPL rule narrates a maximum of two uncapped players for retention, three players will feel disappointed as they were not retained by the franchise.
KKR Uncapped Players in IPL 2024: Harshit Rana, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Anukul Roy, Ramandeep Singh, Suyash Sharma, Sakib Hussain and Vaibhav Arora.
KKR found a gem in Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who announced his IPL arrival with a sublime half-century against Delhi Capitals. Though Raghuvanshi wasn't prolific, the KKR youngster looked effortless and brilliant in the cameos that he played for them. The Mumbai batter amassed 163 runs for them in the season with a strike rate of 155. The 19-year-old has a bright future ahead but he would have loved to continue with KKR, and may feel disappointed after his release.
Vaibhav Arora did a magnificent job for KKR last season. He played 10 matches for KKR and picked up 11 wickets. The 26-year-old pacer showcased decent control with the new ball and impressed with his pace. Despite a decent stint last season, Arora's exclusion was expected but the Knights may try and buy him in the auction.
Suyash Sharma had a superb debut season in IPL 2023. The leg-spinner picked up 10 wickets in his first season and also had a magnificent domestic campaign with Delhi. But he failed to replicate his good start in IPL 2024 and didn't have a single wicket to his name. The 21-year-old will be disappointed but KKR can add him from the auction.
