Chris Gayle, one of the most iconic overseas names in IPL history, enjoyed a glittering 13-season stint in the Indian Premier League, where he lit up stadiums with his explosive batting and larger-than-life persona.
Ever since he burst onto the IPL scene post-2008, the Jamaican legend has earned unwavering love from Indian fans, not just for his six-hitting ability but also for the entertainment he brings to the field.

Known for his close friendship with Virat Kohli and his fondness for playing against Mumbai Indians, Gayle recently sat down with InsideSport where he shared his thoughts on Indian cricket stalwarts and young stars.
In a candid segment, Gayle was asked to pick between India's two modern-day giants - Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Interestingly, while Gayle has shared numerous memorable moments on the field with Kohli and has often spoken about their bond, he leaned towards Rohit when it came to leadership and decision-making qualities.
"Rohit", was Gayle's answer when he had to pick the better leader between the duo.
The reason? Rohit Sharma's remarkable record as a captain - five IPL titles with Mumbai Indians and one as Team India's leader - played a big part in Gayle's call. Yet, when it came to sheer preference, Gayle mentioned Kohli nine times versus four for Rohit during the fun rapid-fire session.
Despite Kohli still chasing his maiden IPL trophy, Gayle credited him with having a more significant impact on the league's legacy than Rohit Sharma.
Ironically, both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have moved on from their leadership days in the IPL. Still continuing for Mumbai Indians, Rohit now plays only as a batter and Virat Kohli has embraced the same for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. At RCB, Rajat Patidar currently leads the side while Hardik Pandya is the successor of Rohit at MI.
