Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) edged out the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a mere 2 runs, thanks to a stellar performance by Avesh Khan in the death overs.
Opting to bat first, LSG posted a competitive total of 180/5. Aiden Markram led the charge with a composed 66 off 45 balls, while Ayush Badoni contributed a steady 50 off 34 deliveries. The innings culminated with Abdul Samad's explosive cameo, where he smashed four sixes in the final over, adding 27 crucial runs to the total.

In response, RR's chase was anchored by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a commendable 74 off 52 balls. He was well-supported by 14-year-old debutant Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who impressed with a quickfire 34, becoming the youngest player to debut in IPL history. Despite being in a strong position at 156/2 in 17 overs, RR faltered in the final stages, primarily due to Avesh Khan's exceptional bowling.
The match's momentum shifted dramatically during the 18th and 20th overs, both bowled by Avesh Khan. The LSG pacer went for plenty in his first two overs but came back brilliantly to snatch a victory out of nothing for his team.
With RR needing 25 runs from the last three overs and eight wickets in hand, Avesh Khan delivered a game-changing over. This over yielded only 5 runs and two crucial wickets, swinging the momentum in LSG's favor. Avesh also managed to pick up two crucial wickets as set batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag were sent back to the pavilion.
In the final over of the match, Avesh defended just 8 runs and conceded just 6 runs in it. He went 1 2 W 0 2 1 in the final six balls and scripted a famous win for the Super Giants.
Avesh Khan's exceptional death bowling, yielding figures of 4-0-37-3, was instrumental in LSG's narrow victory. His precise yorkers and composure under pressure turned the tide in a match that seemed to be slipping away from LSG.
