Sanju Samson has received clearance from the Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) to keep wickets in the IPL 2025.
The Kerala-born player has now been handed a green signal by the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and will now be seen behind the stumps.

Sanju underwent a finger surgery recently and was only been cleared to bat in the ongoing IPL. The Rajashan Royals player relinquished his captaincy for the first three matches and played only as an Impact Player for batting. Riyan Parag led the Royals as they won once in the first three encounters.
MyKhel understands the India star is now cleared by the BCCI medical staff and will now be able to keep wickets. It also means Sanju will now captain the Royals as well in their next match, which is set to be played on April 5 against the Punjab Kings.
A source close to the player told MyKhel that the Indian star is expected to feature behind the stumps against Punjab and will also captain the team. He flew in Bengaluru from Guwahati for the clearance and is set to fly to Chandigarh on Thursday.
The 30-year-old has started the IPL 2025 in a decent fashion. He scored a fantastic knock of 66 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match and then scored 13 and 20 against KKR and CSK, respectively. With the fitness issue now behind, Samson is likely to showcase his true batting prowess and marshal his troops on the field for the remainder of the season.
