Despite ongoing uncertainty surrounding the venue for the IPL 2025 clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants, Sourav Ganguly remains confident that the match will take place as originally scheduled at Eden Gardens on April 6.
The former India captain and ex-BCCI president dismissed reports suggesting the KKR vs LSG match's shift to Guwahati, citing a social media post from Kolkata Police to reinforce his stance.

Speculation has been rife that the match could be relocated due to Ram Navami celebrations, with reports indicating that the Kolkata Police had informed the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) about potential security concerns. However, during an event in Kolkata, Ganguly expressed confidence that the fixture would proceed as planned.
"Just wait and watch what happens next. Have you seen Kolkata Police's post yesterday? I don't think the match will be shifted. And in the IPL, I'm supporting Delhi Capitals," Ganguly was quoted as saying by PTI.
Meanwhile, a BCCI official acknowledged that discussions are ongoing with Kolkata Police to ensure proper security arrangements for the high-profile encounter.
"Kolkata Police is working on its deployment strategy for the match to ensure the safety and security of all," the official told PTI.
Adding to the intrigue, Kolkata Police, via their official X (formerly Twitter) account, refuted the reports of a potential rescheduling, labeling them as "misleading posts."
"Certain misleading posts are being circulated regarding the proposed rescheduling of the IPL match on April 6. Kolkata Police remains firmly committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. All deployment decisions are made with public safety as the top priority. Kolkata Police - With you, Always," the post read.
Interestingly, Ganguly's remarks contrast with those of his elder brother Snehasish Ganguly, who currently serves as the president of CAB. Just days earlier, Snehasish had suggested that the match was likely to be moved to Guwahati due to security constraints and remained clueless about the proceedings.
"We have informed the BCCI to reschedule the match, but since there is no alternative date available in Kolkata, I'm now hearing that it's going to be shifted to Guwahati," Snehasish recently said.
"If there's no police protection, accommodating and managing a 65,000-strong crowd becomes impossible," he added.
With conflicting statements emerging from key stakeholders, the final decision on the match's venue remains uncertain. However, Ganguly's confidence and Kolkata Police's assurance suggest that the match could still take place at Eden Gardens as originally planned.
