Sunrisers Hyderabad have handed a debut to Harsh Dubey, who is playing in the IPL 2025 match today (May 19) against the Lucknow Super Giants.
Dubey is a bowling all-rounder, who was roped in by SRH for Rs 30 lakh as a replacement for R. Smaran. He is also part of the India A team, which will tour England in June.

Harsh Dubey is a promising Indian cricketer who has rapidly ascended the ranks in domestic cricket. Born on July 23, 2002, in Pune, Maharashtra, Dubey is a left-handed batting, slow left-arm orthodox bowling all-rounder. He represents Vidarbha in domestic cricket and was instrumental in their Ranji win last season.
The 22-year-old has an abundance of talent, but it was a sudden moment which inspired Harsh's cricketing journey.
Dubey saw his cricketing flight take a meaningful turn after an unexpected detour toward Vijay Book Depot. That twist led him and his father to Ruby Club, where a young Harsh - then in fifth grade, found himself captivated by the sight of emerging cricketers training on the maidaan. It was in that moment that his love for the game took root, and the youngster never looked back since, as it was recently reported by Cricktracker.
His parents made significant sacrifices for his career; his father left his job in the CISF, and his mother, a teacher, dedicated time to his practice sessions.
Dubey got 69 wickets in the Ranji Trophy in 2024-25 season, thus creating the record of most wickets by a player in a single season. Along with that, he also scored 472 runs in Ranji Trophy, thus joining an elite all-rounders' list. The SRH player was also trained by Ravichandran Ashwin in the TNCA first division league in the past and is known for his accuracy and elite skills with the ball.
