Sunil Narine on Thursday (April 3) scripted history by claiming his 200th wicket for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and in the process the West Indies veteran spinner became the first player to reach the landmark for a single Indian Premier League (IPL) team.
Narine achieved the feat during KKR's IPL 2025 clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, when he added the scalp of Kamindu Mendis in his second over.

Now in 189 matches for KKR since debut in 2012, Narine has taken 200 wickets at an average of 24.14, with best figures of 5/19, his solitary five-wicket haul. He also has eight four-wicket hauls.
Narine is the fourth-highest wicket-taker in IPL history, with 182 wickets at an average of 25.60 in 180 matches, with best figures of 5/19. His rest of the wickets for KKR have come in the now-defunct Champions League T20 competition, where he took 18 scalps in nine matches.
Narine has the second-highest number of wickets by a bowler for a single team in T20s, next to Samit Patel's 208 wickets for Nottinghamshire. Here is a look at the top 5 players to claim most T20 wickets for a single team:
In the IPL, Narine is just two wickets shy off overtaking his compatriot Dwayne Bravo, who was the leading wicket-taker in the league until the 2023 season. From the above list only Malinga came close to achieving the milestone as he was another player who spent his career at a single team like Narine.
Overall, Narine has 575 wickets to his name in the shortest format across competitions and is the third highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket behind Afghanistan's Rashid Khan, who tops the list with 635 scalps, and compatriot Dwayne Bravo, who has 631 wickets to his name.
