IPL 2025: Suryakumar Yadav Gets Floored By Vicious Bouncer From Prasidh Krishna During GT vs MI Match

IPL 2025: Suryakumar Yadav received an injury scare during MI vs GT, IPL 2025 match on Saturday, 29th March at Ahmedabad' s Narendra Modi Stadium after a venomous bouncer hit the grille of his helmet.

The impact was such that it brought him to the ground, sending shockwaves through out the stadium.

During the 14th over of the match in the 2nd innings, Gujarat's Prasidh Krishna bowled a short slower delivery aimed at Suryakumar Yadav. Attempting a scoop shot, Suryakumar misjudged the pace and ended up top-edging the ball. It struck the peak of his helmet, with the grille absorbing most of the impact. The blow caused him to fall to the ground, remaining down briefly.

Siraj was the first to check on him, followed by Hardik Pandya and other teammates. The physio quickly assessed him, and to the crowd's relief, Suryakumar got back on his feet, indicating he was okay. Thankfully, the slower pace of the ball and the helmet's protection prevented any serious injury.

Speaking of the match, batting first, Gujarat put up a good score of 196, thanks to Sai Sudharsan's 63, followed by valuable contributions from Shubman Gill (38) and Jos Buttler (39). Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowlers for MI as he finished with figures of 4-29-2.

In the run-chase, Mumbai fell short of the target by 36 runs as they finished with 160 on the board. Tilak Varma (39) and Suryakumar Yadav (48) ignited hopes but they couldn't quite keep up with the run-rate as they lost wickets in regular intervals.

This is the second consecutive loss for Mumbai in the ongoing tournament as they struggle to find their footing right. They are definitely missing the services of their star bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, who is sidelined due to a back injury. It's still early days in the tournament and the 5-time champions should buckle up and figure a way out to get back to winning ways.
