IPL 2025: Teams Could go Big for This Uncapped Mumbai Indians Player After Smashing Fastest Century in KCL

Mumbai Indians' uncapped Vishnu Vinod showcased his immense batting prowess during the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2024, smashing the fastest century of the tournament in a blistering innings for Thrissur Titans.

Vinod's knock of 139 from just 45 balls propelled his team to an eight-wicket victory over Alleppey Ripples in a one-sided affair. His display of clean power-hitting included five boundaries and an astounding 17 sixes, giving his team an easy chase of 182 with 44 balls to spare.

Vinod's century came off just 33 balls, breaking records and raising eyebrows across the cricketing community. The 30-year-old cricketer, who has been part of several IPL teams but has yet to secure consistent playing time, demonstrated why IPL franchises may want to invest in him for the 2025 season.

His innings saw him score 87.86% of his runs in boundaries, and with a strike rate of 308.88, it was one of the most destructive performances in KCL history. Promoted to open the innings for Thrissur, Vinod grabbed the opportunity with both hands, launching his attack from the very first over.

He took particular delight in targeting the bowlers, greeting Alleppey Ripples' Akshay Chandran's spin with three consecutive sixes in the PowerPlay. His destructive form turned what seemed like a stiff target of 182 into a cakewalk.

Vinod's sensational knock eclipsed the earlier efforts of Alleppey Ripples' captain Mohammed Azharuddeen, who had played a solid innings of 90 off 53 balls to set up the target. Despite Azharuddeen's heroics, Vishnu's assault took all hopes away from Alleppey.

With such a dominant performance, Vishnu Vinod has put his name firmly on the radar of IPL franchises. He has already been part of the league since 2017, turning out for four different franchises, including the Mumbai Indians, but has only played six matches across those years.

His ability to hit pace bowlers, bat in multiple positions, and serve as a wicketkeeper makes him an appealing all-round package for IPL teams. As IPL 2025 approaches, Vinod's form could see him fetch a significant price in the auction.
