In a disturbing turn of events following Royal Challengers Bengaluru's recent win over Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025, three RCB fans were arrested in Karnataka for allegedly sacrificing a goat in front of a large cutout of star batter Virat Kohli.
The incident occurred in Mariyammanahalli village in Molakalmuru taluk, Chitradurga district, where some youths sacrificed a goat and made an alarming video of that.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sanna Palayya (22), Jayanna (23), and Tippe Swamy (28). The controversy erupted after a video of the act went viral on social media, triggering outrage from both animal welfare groups and the general public.
In the 20-second video, one of the men is seen holding the goat in front of a towering cutout of Virat Kohli. As another person loudly celebrates RCB’s triumph over CSK, the goat is slaughtered using a machete. The blood is then offered as “raktaabhisheka” (blood offering) to the cutout of Kohli and a large team poster. A third person assists by holding the animal with a rope.
The act was intended as a bizarre form of celebration for RCB’s high-stakes victory, but it has been met with strong condemnation for promoting animal cruelty and fanaticism. Local authorities have since taken swift action, registering a case and initiating further investigation.
