Rahul Dravid's tenure as India's head coach ended with the conclusion of T20 World Cup 2024. And after his successful stint as India coach, Dravid won't have any shortage of takers for a new chapter.
As per reports, Kolkata Knight Riders have approached Dravid for a role after the departure of Gautam Gambhir. But a few reports have now revealed possibility of Dravid's role as the head coach of Delhi Capitals.

The Capitals have parted ways with Ricky Ponting. The Australian served as head coach for the last few years but has left the franchise after another underwhelming season in the IPL.
Amid this, there are expectations that DC may approach Rahul Dravid to become the next head coach ahead of IPL 2025. Here are three reasons why the former India captain may join the Capitals helm-
Rahul Dravid joined as a batting mentor of Delhi Capitals in the past. He may be tipped to take a new role at the franchise ahead of next season, after an outstanding swansong with the Indian team. The Capitals will be looking forward to appointing him for the next few seasons and Dravid may also be looking forward for a new challenge.
Sourav Ganguly was the one who brought Dravid as the India coach during his stint as BCCI president. Ganguly is currently the Head of Cricket at Delhi Capitals and has an excellent relation with Dravid. Ganguly's possibility of becoming the DC coach is very slim and 'Dada' may persuade his former teammate at the Capitals helm. The duo share a very close personal relation and if Ganguly asks Dravid to join the Delhi franchise, he is likely to comply.
Delhi Capitals are certain to retain Rishabh Pant ahead of the auction. Pant is in the reckoning to become the next India captain and thus Dravid will be very much enticed to work with the player at DC. The India legend has worked with Sanju Samson at Rajasthan Royals and is going to be looking forward to pair up with Pant at DC. Also he knows the Capitals owner Parth Jindal and the duo form a cordial relation, which can be another factor in Dravid joining the franchise.
