IPL 2025: Vaibhav Suryavanshi Left Out these Two Favourite Dishes to stay Fit, Coach Reveals
Vaibhav Suryavanshi announced himself in sublime fashion as the Rajasthan Royals batter became youngest player to take part in the IPL.
He etched his name into cricketing history by becoming the youngest-ever debutant in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at just 14 years and 23 days old. Representing the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Suryavanshi's performance was nothing short of sensational.

Suryavanshi opened the batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. He announced his arrival by smashing a six over extra cover off the very first ball he faced from Shardul Thakur, joining an elite group of players who have achieved this feat on debut. His innings comprised 34 runs off 20 balls, including three sixes and two fours, contributing to an 85-run opening partnership.
Vaibhav has said NO to Favourite Foods
The youngster was bought for Rs 1.10 crore by the Royals and has been a welcome addition to their squad. Although the youngster's success is being hailed, there was a lot of dedication and hard work behind it. His coach Manish Ojha recently revealed how the player said No to two of his favourite foods in order to keep himself fit.
"Mutton nahi khana hai usko, instructions hain. Pizza hata diya hai uske diet chart mein se [Mutton is not allowed for him as per the instructions. Pizza has been removed from his diet as well]. He is just fond of chicken and mutton. He is a kid, so he used to love pizza a lot. But he doesn't eat it anymore. When we used to give him mutton, no matter how much we gave, he would finish all of it. That's why he looks a bit chubby," his coach Manish Ojha said to Times of India recently.
It is quite unbelievable dedication from Suryavanshi at such a tender age. He has not just been curbing out the favourite dishes, but has been working on his strength and core development as well. And coach Ojha believes his student bears the traits of Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara.
"He's a fearless batter. He has said time and again that he admires Brian Lara. But he's a mix of Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara. His aggression is just like Yuvraj's," he added.
