IPL 2025: Virat Kohli to Hardik Pandya, Top 5 Indian Performers at Midway Stage

By MyKhel Staff

As IPL 2025 reaches its halfway stage, the tournament has thrown up several standout performances from Indian players, many of whom are staking a claim for international duties with their consistency and impact.

MyKhel evaluates the top five Indian performers of the season so far, based on individual brilliance and the contribution to their respective teams’ campaigns. From blazing knocks to wicket-taking spells, these players have raised the bar as most franchises gear up for the second leg of the league stage.

IPL 2025 Top 5 Indian Performers at Midway Stage

1. Sai Sudharsan – 9/10

Sai Sudharsan has turned a new leaf as an opener for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025. His evolution from a promising middle-order batter to a dependable opener has been key to GT's success this season. With scores of 56, 82, 49, 63, and 74 in the six games so far, Sudharsan has been more consistent than his captain, Shubman Gill and has shown a remarkable ability to convert starts into substantial knocks.

His performances have laid the platform for GT's strong total-building, especially at home in Ahmedabad. His 82-run innings against the Rajasthan Royals was a match-winning effort, showing his flair and composure under pressure.

2. Virat Kohli – 8.5/10

Virat Kohli has carried his international form into the IPL with vintage displays in RCB’s top order. With three half-centuries, including an unbeaten 62 on a tough batting surface in Jaipur, Kohli has been RCB's anchor. His experience has proved vital as RCB sit third on the points table. The 67-run knock at Wankhede and a composed 59* at Eden Gardens reflect his mastery over different conditions. Kohli’s consistency at the top is once again giving RCB the foundation to build big totals or chase down stiff targets with composure.

3. Kuldeep Yadav – 8.5/10

Kuldeep Yadav has been the spin spearhead for Delhi Capitals, bagging 11 wickets in six matches so far. He has already surpassed his 2023 tally and is just five wickets shy of last season’s total. Kuldeep has picked up wickets in every match, proving to be the most reliable weapon in the middle overs. His best performance came against SRH where he took 3/22 in a winning cause at Vizag. Even in high-scoring encounters, Kuldeep’s control and guile have helped Delhi retain a stranglehold in the middle overs, playing a key role in their five wins from six matches.

4. Mohammed Siraj – 8/10

Mohammed Siraj, after being dropped from India’s setup and released by RCB, has responded strongly for Gujarat Titans. The pacer has taken 10 wickets this season, including a match-winning 4/17 against SRH and 3/19 against his former team RCB. Despite going for runs in two high-scoring games, Siraj has emerged as GT’s go-to bowler in crunch moments. His pace, aggression, and ability to bowl with the new ball and at the death make him one of the most influential Indian pacers this season.

5. Hardik Pandya – 7.5/10

Hardik Pandya endured a turbulent start to IPL 2025 amid captaincy pressure at Mumbai Indians and initial losses. However, the all-rounder has turned things around with performances that speak of leadership and resilience. Whether it’s his 5/36 against LSG or a fiery 21 off 9 balls against SRH, Hardik has made his presence felt.

Experts like Ajay Jadeja and Mark Boucher have praised his ability to lift the team’s morale and take responsibility in critical situations. His middle-overs bowling has been a game-changer while his cameos with the bat have added crucial runs. The Delhi match was a turning point, and MI’s comeback has a lot to do with Hardik’s grit.

Notable Mentions

Rajat Patidar has led RCB confidently as a new captain and chipped in with vital knocks, often combining well with Kohli.

KL Rahul scored a brilliant 93 and a vital 77 in wins over RCB and CSK respectively, reminding fans of his class.

Prasidh Krishna missed the cut narrowly, with his disciplined middle-over spells helping his side stay competitive.

Khaleel Ahmed has picked up several wickets for CSK but has struggled to influence match outcomes as his team languishes at the bottom.

Shardul Thakur has shown flashes of brilliance, winning a couple of games on his own but has lacked consistency with the ball, especially with LSG’s bowling hit by injuries to Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan.
