Virender Sehwag has offered words of advice to Rishabh Pant amid the wicketkeeper-batter's ongoing struggles with form in the IPL 2025 season. Speaking on Cricbuzz, the former India opener suggested that if Pant is feeling mentally unsettled about his batting, he should not hesitate to reach out to people he trusts.
Sehwag even encouraged Pant to connect with MS Dhoni if he views the legendary former India captain as a mentor.

Pant managed only 18 runs during Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) 37-run defeat to Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on May 4. Addressing Pant's dip in form, Sehwag recommended that the left-hander revisit videos of his past performances to regain confidence.
"He should go back and watch old footage from when he was scoring consistently in the IPL," Sehwag said. "It helps recall the approach and mindset that worked for you. And if he's feeling off mentally, there are plenty of players he can turn to. If Dhoni is his inspiration, then he should speak to him."
So far in the 2025 season, Pant has scored just 128 runs in 11 matches at an average of 12.8. His lack of form has compounded Lucknow's problems, especially with Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran also failing to fire.
Despite the team's slide and a negative net run rate of -0.47, Pant remains hopeful about a late surge into the playoffs. With 10 points from 11 games and three matches left to play, LSG will likely need to win all their remaining fixtures to stand a realistic chance of progressing.
''When you gonna drop crucial catches at the wrong time, it is going to hurt you badly. We thought it was going to do more. We didn't pick the length right at the start. That's part and parcel of the game. The dream is still alive. If we gonna win the next three matches, we definitely can turn it around'', Pant said at the post-match presentation.
