Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) received mixed news in terms of players returning from injury ahead of their next Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Lucknow.
Rishabh Pant's LSG entered the tournament with a quartet of their pacers being sidelined by injury. Mayank Yadav, Akash Deep, Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan were all nursing injury before IPL 2025 campaign started last month.

While they signed Shardul Thakur as a replacement for Mohsin Khan, and Avesh Khan returned to action from the second match, LSG are still waiting on the arrival of Mayank and Akash Deep, who missed the first three matches of the season due to injury.
LSG has won one and lost two, including their most recent match at home against Punjab Kings at the Ekana Stadium on Tuesday (April 1), when the bowling attack failed to defend 172. Their batting also has not come to the party entirely with only Nicholas Pooran firing in the three games so far.
The Lucknow-based franchise will be keen to have their full set of bowlers available for their remaining matches as they aim for a better finish from last season in the IPL. So, Akash Deep and Mayank's return will be key to their progress this year. Then, when will the two pacers be available? Here is the latest:
Akash Deep Fitness Update: There was some much needed good news for the Lucknow-based team as Akash Deep is likely to be available for their match against Mumbai Indians on Friday (April 4).
Akash has been sidelined since December 2024, having picked up a back injury during the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. The Bengal pacer has been undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
However, as per a report from ESPNCricinfo, the 28-year-old is set to join LSG squad on Wednesday (April 2) after being cleared to play by the BCCI medical staff at the Centre of Excellence.
The speedster announced his arrival in IPL last season with his sheer pace and later also went on to earn an international cap in the T20 format, but his career has been plagued by injury.
Mayank Yadav Injury Update: Mayank Yadav also is at the BCCI Centre of Excellene, but the speedster's recovery from a lumbar stress injury faced further set back due to a toe injury. While there is no update on timeline, Mayank is unlikely to be available for at least the next two weeks.
