IPL 2025: Who is Madhav Tiwari? Delhi Capitals' Debutant Bowler who bats with a Strike Rate of 205

In the PBKS vs DC match, the Delhi Capitals have handed an IPL debut to Madhav Tiwari, who has replaced Vipraj Nigam.

The 21-year-old youngster is an exciting talent and now gets his first exposure to the IPL 2025 in Dharamshala.

Who is Madhav Tiwari?

Madhav Tiwari is an Indian all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh. He was born on September 28, 2003, in the Mauganj district of Madhya Pradesh.

A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, Tiwari has demonstrated significant promise in domestic cricket, leading to his acquisition by the Delhi Capitals for Rs 40 lakh in the 2025 IPL auction.

Tiwari's cricketing journey began in his early teens, representing Indore Division's Under-15 and Under-18 teams. His leadership skills came to the fore when he captained the Under-18 team to a championship victory, notably scoring a double century in a crucial match. In the 2021-22 Senior Division MK Bhaya Trophy, he emerged as the highest wicket-taker, showcasing his prowess as a fast-bowler as well. He is yet to play for Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket.

In 2024, Tiwari played for the Bhopal Leopards in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League, where he scored 72 runs at a striking rate of 205.71 and took three wickets, including a memorable hat-trick against Rewa Division. His fielding skills were also evident, with six catches in the tournament.

His ability to contribute both with the bat and ball, especially in the middle and lower order, offers the team flexibility.
