Zeeshan Ansari has made his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday (March 29).
The young spinner was bought by SRH in the IPL 2025 auction for Rs 40 lakh and is playing his first match in the Indian Premier League against the Capitals.

Zeeshan Ansari, born on December 16, 1999, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, is a talented Indian cricketer known for his right-handed batting and legbreak googly bowling.
Zeeshan grew up in a modest household where his father worked as a tailor. Despite financial challenges, his passion for cricket was evident from an early age. His uncle introduced him to the game, and his early training was made possible by coach Gopal Singh at the LDA Academy in Aliganj, who offered him free coaching. The 25-year-old hasn't looked back since and has been immense for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket.
Zeeshan rose to prominence during the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he represented India. He later made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on October 6, 2017, impressing with six wickets in the match against Railways (three in each innings).
He also made his T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on February 28, 2019. In the Uttar Pradesh T20 League, Zeeshan became the leading wicket-taker, grabbing 24 wickets and showcasing his match-winning abilities.
Zeeshan, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, idolizes legendary spinner Shane Warne. He’s known for his sharp leg-breaks, deceptive googlies, and a well-disguised flipper. Under the guidance of his coach, he has refined his ability to use flight, drift, and variation to outfox batters.
Outside cricket, Zeeshan enjoys traveling and swimming. He remains grounded and credits his family, particularly his father, for supporting him through difficult times. His story is one of determination, sacrifice, and perseverance.
Zeeshan's first IPL wicket was a huge scalp as he dismissed Faf du Plessis in the second over of his spell. Ansari then also dismissed Jake Fraser-McGurk and KL Rahul.
