Mumbai Indians are locking horns against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a crucial IPL 2025 match on Monday (April 7).
The Paltans have lost three of their first four matches and are in need of revival. As they take on RCB at the Wankhede, expectations are growing over the availability of Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah had been out of action since January after suffering a stress reaction in his lower back during the Test series in Australia. As a result, he missed several key fixtures, including the Champions Trophy. Since then, he has been undergoing rehabilitation under medical supervision.
According to team updates, Bumrah has resumed full training and is considered match-fit. Mumbai Indians' team management has indicated that he could be available for the match against RCB, though a final decision will be taken after the pre-match training session.
The return of Bumrah could strengthen their bowling lineup, particularly in the death overs, where they have lacked control in his absence. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, meanwhile, come into the match with momentum and will be looking to capitalize on MI's inconsistent form. However, if Bumrah returns, MI's bowling unit will receive a timely boost in what is expected to be a key match for both sides.
That's the golden question. MI's camp has been cautiously optimistic. Bumrah is fit, available, and raring to go. The franchise has reportedly green-lit his inclusion in the matchday squad, though they're expected to manage his workload smartly.
If things go as planned, Jasprit Bumrah will be playing his first match for the Paltans in the IPL 2025 season against RCB today. The Indian speedster is likely to play only as an Impact Player if MI bat first. It is likely that Bumrah will have the fielding burden on him and may be taken off in between his spells for adequate rest.
Incidentally, Bumrah missed the entire IPL 2023 season with an injury. Last year, he played 13 matches for Mumbai and picked up 20 wickets. The India pacer has played 133 IPL matches in his career and has picked up 165 wickets.
