IPL 2025: Winning an IPL Trophy is a Dream- 'RCB' Fan Devdutt Padikkal’s Heartfelt Wish as Bengaluru Eye Elusive Title

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have made a strong start to their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign, sitting third on the points table with three wins from their first four games under the leadership of Rajat Patidar.

Amid the early momentum, one of their homegrown stars, Devdutt Padikkal, has expressed his long-held dream - lifting the IPL trophy with the franchise he has supported since childhood.

RCB

In the latest edition of RCB Bold Diaries, Padikkal opened up about his deep emotional connect with RCB and what it would mean to be a part of their maiden title win.

"Obviously, winning an IPL trophy for RCB is a dream. Because as an RCB fan, I am sure every single RCB fan wants this franchise to have that trophy, and I am an RCB fan, and I feel the same. Every year, even if I am part of the IPL, there is always a soft spot for RCB, watching them and hoping that they succeed as well. So, if not my team, it was always that I would hope that RCB would win. Coming into RCB again, my only dream would be to win that trophy for RCB."

Padikkal's statement is one that echoes the sentiments of thousands of RCB loyalists. The franchise, known for its star-studded lineups over the years, has come heartbreakingly close to winning the title but has fallen short on each occasion. For players like Padikkal, who grew up supporting the team, the ambition isn't just professional-it's deeply personal.

"I've been an RCB fan since I started watching IPL, to be honest. I still remember coming to the stands and watching the game. We used to have those filled-up balloons to cheer on the team. I still remember having those and smashing them together whenever the match was going on. I was really young. Obviously, I didn't understand the game that much at that point, but I still understood that RCB meant something to everyone in the stadium, and I care a lot for this franchise, for this city, for this state."

Having rejoined RCB after a stint with another franchise, Padikkal is now once again wearing the red and gold with pride. While the team continues to perform well this season, their focus remains on consistency and peaking at the right time.

As RCB continue their campaign with promising performances under a new leader, Padikkal's heartfelt dream could inch closer to reality. With the backing of a passionate fan base, a balanced squad, and renewed purpose, RCB's hunt for their first IPL title in 2025 is alive-and this time, it might just be different.
