IPL 2026: Abhishek, Travis demolish PBKS as SRH create Unique Record with Highest Powerplay Score

Sunrisers Hyderabad have beaten the Rajasthan Royals record to post the highest score in the powerplay in IPL 2026 so far.

The SRH side posted a mammoth total of 100 runs in the first six overs in their match against Punjab Kings on Saturday (April 11) at the Mullanpur Stadium, thus creating the unique record.

Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head both took charge from the start and decimated the PBKS bowlers. Sharma has been particularly destructive, batting on 66 off just 22 balls, and Travis Head bats on 31 runs off just 15 balls. The PBKS bowlers have found no brakes as the Orange Army have been devastating, hitting a total of 10 fours and 8 sixes in this powerplay.

SRH create Unique Record

With the score, SRH have become the only team to post more than 100 runs in the powerplay thrice in IPL history. They also hold the highest score in IPL powerplay, when they posted 125 against Delhi Capitals a couple of years ago.
