Abu Dhabi, Dec 16: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made a last-minute change to the IPL 2026 auction register, adding 19 new players less than 24 hours before the auction at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
The move has taken the total number of players in the auction pool to 369, a development that franchise officials have described as "unprecedented" so close to bidding day.

The most prominent Indian name among the late entrants is Bengal's domestic stallwart and captain Abhimanyu Easwaran, who has been included with a base price of Rs. 30 lakh. A consistent performer in domestic cricket and a long-time contender for national selection, Easwaran has been placed at No. 360 in the auction spreadsheet. Several notable overseas players have also been added at the last moment, significantly strengthening the international pool.
South African wicketkeeper-batter Kyle Verreynne, a regular across formats for his country, enters the auction at a base price of Rs. 1.25 crore. Another South African, all-rounder Ethan Bosch, has been listed at Rs. 75 lakh.
Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani, known for his height and ability to extract bounce, has also been added with a Rs. 75 lakh base price. New Zealand quick Ben Sears is among the costliest late entrants, with a base price of Rs. 1.50 crore.
Australian all-rounder Chris Green, a familiar figure in global T20 leagues, joins the register at Rs. 75 lakh, while Malaysia international Virandeep Singh has been slotted at Rs. 30 lakh.
The domestic contingent dominates the late inclusions list, with most players entering at the minimum base price of Rs. 30 lakh. These additions span multiple state associations and offer franchises depth options across roles.
Notably, nine of the 19 players, including Manisankar Murasingh, Swastik Chikara and Ethan Bosch, were briefly included in the auction pool earlier before being withdrawn. They have now been reinstated following requests from franchises, according to officials.
