The remaining schedule for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season will be announced soon, according to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Devajit Saikia.
Speaking about the delay, Saikia confirmed that the board is finalising the fixtures for the second half of the tournament and an official announcement is expected within days.

"We will announce the remaining IPL-2026 schedule in a few days' time," Saikia said.
The BCCI had earlier released fixtures only for the first 20 matches of IPL 2026, which run until April 12. The phased announcement was influenced by assembly election dates across several IPL host states, including Assam, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
With election-related logistical concerns now clearer, the remaining 54 matches are expected to be scheduled shortly.
Despite concerns about potential disruptions linked to energy and fuel availability in certain regions, BCCI sources indicated that the tournament will proceed without any curtailment.
Ahead of the tournament, captains from all 10 IPL franchises attended a briefing session at the BCCI headquarters following the annual captains' photoshoot at the Cricket Club of India.
Match referees' head Javagal Srinath and umpiring panel chief Nitin Menon led the session, clarifying tournament regulations and playing conditions for the upcoming season.
According to sources, all existing rules will remain unchanged, including:
The ball change rule introduced last season to counter dew in night matches will continue in IPL 2026.
Under this regulation, fielding teams in evening matches are allowed to request one ball change after the 10th over of the second innings. The replacement ball will have similar wear and tear, while umpires retain the authority to change the ball at any stage if required.
With the IPL 2026 opener scheduled for March 28, the release of the second-half fixtures is expected to complete preparations for another full-scale season of the tournament.
