IPL 2026: How Many Matches Will RCB Play At M Chinnaswamy And At Raipur

Bengaluru, March 3: Defending IPL champions, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), are set to return to their fortress, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, and defend their title.

The decision comes after months of coordination and regulatory processes. RCB will finally play five of its seven home games in Bengaluru, while two of its home games will be hosted in Raipur. The move will help bring the passionate fan base of RCB back to cheer for their franchise.

The Bengaluru-based franchise extended its gratitude to the Government of Karnataka, the Karnataka State Cricket Association, and the Karnataka Police for their unwavering guidance, cooperation, and support in facilitating the hosting of matches in Bengaluru in a press release.

The collective efforts ensured infrastructure readiness and enhanced safety measures, allowing Bengaluru to host the majority of RCB's home fixtures.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in a press release, said that the ground is more than just a home ground. It is where the identity of the team truly lies.

"The energy our fans bring to Bengaluru has always been a driving force for our players, inspiring them through every phase of the game. Our fans have stood by us unconditionally, and they deserve the opportunity to watch their team compete at home," Menon said.

"After detailed discussions and completing the necessary due process around permissions, we are pleased to confirm that RCB will play five matches in Bengaluru. We sincerely thank the Government of Karnataka, the KSCA, and the Karnataka Police for their support in making this possible," the RCB CEO further said.

Why Is RCB Still Playing In Raipur?

Besides the five matches, the remaining two home fixtures of RCB's IPL 2026 campaign will take place at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium.

This arrangement aligns with earlier commitments made by the franchise. While Bengaluru will host the bulk of matches, Raipur continues to serve as an additional venue for the defending champions this season.
