IPL 2026: 'I want to say Sorry Papa' - Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reveals Commendable Parenting, apologises to Father

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delivered a statement innings that blended raw power with personal redemption. Just weeks earlier, in Hyderabad, uncapped SRH pacer Praful Hinge had dismissed the young opener for a golden duck on debut, claiming three wickets in the first over and triggering Rajasthan Royals' collapse.

This time, Sooryavanshi came out firing. Facing Hinge with the new ball once more, he was beaten on the first delivery but responded with devastating intent.

The next four balls disappeared for sixes - launched over deep square leg, long leg, long-on, and long-off - turning the over into a 24- or 25-run carnage. It was pure payback, shifting momentum instantly and silencing any doubts.

Sooryavanshi raced to a breathtaking 103 off just 37 balls, the third-fastest in IPL history. Blasting 12 sixes and 5 fours at a strike rate of nearly 278, he powered RR to 228/6. Though SRH chased it down later, the teenager's fearless strokeplay once again lit up the tournament, proving his meteoric rise as one of cricket's brightest prospects.

And after the match, Sooryavanshi revealed his tactics against Hinge and admitted the strong words from the bowler affected him a bit. The player also admitted that he made up his mind to play attacking shots from the get-go.

"I went with a clear plan against that bowler. After getting out in the last match, I checked my phone and saw a lot of things. I usually don't pay attention to those things, but when someone says personally to me, it affects me a bit. I decided to answer with my bat, not with words," Sooryavanshi said after the match with RR's social media handle.

The player confirmed that he will have a talk with his parents after the match. While chatting with Romi Bhinder, Sooryavanshi also revealed his parents always tell him to touch coaches' feet after getting dismissed.

"They will now ask me why I didn't touch all the coaches' feet after getting out. But there were so many people and all are seniors, hence, I decided to go inside. I want to say sorry to dad," he added.
