IPL 2026 Injury Updates: Full & Partial Ruled-Out Players, Replacement List for All Teams So Far

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the 19th edition of the world's premier T20 cricket tournament, is set to ignite excitement across India and beyond.

It comprises 84 matches in a double round-robin league format (each team plays every other team twice, home and away), followed by playoffs including Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the grand final. The tournament kicks off with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on March 28.

As the season approaches, several key players face injury setbacks, many linked to the preceding T20 World Cup 2026. A number of players have been ruled out for the season, while some are likely to be sidelined for part of the tournament.

Harshit Rana is out for Kolkata Knight Riders, who required knee surgery following an injury sustained during a T20 World Cup warm-up match. Nathan Ellis from Chennai Super Kings has been sidelined for the entire tournament due to a hamstring injury.

Sam Curran from the Rajasthan Royals will miss the whole season because of a groin problem. Jack Edwards from Sunrisers Hyderabad is unavailable throughout due to a foot injury.

Pat Cummins, the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, will miss the opening matches owing to a lower back issue, with Ishan Kishan stepping in as interim captain. Josh Hazlewood from Royal Challengers Bengaluru is set to sit out the start of the season due to ongoing Achilles tendon and hamstring concerns.
